This week electrical rewire is a three bedroomed mid terraced house in Fleetwood. This project was a tricky project to execute. The property is a mid-terraced house with solid concrete floors and laminate flooring in the rear room. With he property having solid floors downstairs it meant all of the cables had to be installed through the first floor joists. This resulted in more flooring needing to be lifted than usual.

Before our clients purchased this property they purchased an EICR (Electrical installation condition report) which on completion identified that the property would benefit from an electrical rewire. If you are purchasing a property older than 25 years old we always recommend having an EICR carried out so you know the condition of the wiring and have no nasty surprises once moved in.

Originally the property was going to be empty which always makes rewiring your home easier. However, due to delays in the completion dates on this property our clients had to move into the property.

This added extra challenges to the project. Our clients were going to be living in the property, they have two nervous house cats and one of our clients works from home.

First issue, we could not leave our customers with no power for any length of time due to the working from home situation. We had to ensure that the rewiring was carried out so that we could energise the new circuits as we went to minimise disruption.

Our original target for completion of this project was five days. Our clients already had other trades booked in to follow on from us which meant, even with the extra work load we had to meet our client’s deadline.

We are pleased that we managed to complete this project in the five days allocated to us completing the work at 6.00pm on the Friday. After all of the dust, disruption and inconvenience we was pleased to hand over this project along with the relevant electrical certificates.
